BATTLE ON BUKA STREET: Funke Akindele's film gets positive reviews on the Stream as it did on Screen

Funke AKindele’s 2022 box office hit Battle on Buka Street, starring herself, Mercy Johnson alongside an impressive cast that includes Sola Sobowale, Tina Mba and Nkem Owoh,  is now streaming on Prime Video, and it seems to be garnering equal rave reviews as it did for its theatrical release.

Penned by Jackenneth Opume and directed by Tobi Makinde and Akindele, the two-hour family-based comedy-drama follows the story of how two half-sisters, Awele (Johnson) and Yejide (Akindele) growing up in a tumultuous polygamous home, torn between tribal lines,  influenced by their mothers; Ezinne (Mba) and Asake (Sobowale), ended up as arch rivalries that drove them to compete ruthlessly against each other for a larger market share in Otanwa community famous eatery hub, Buka Street.

In addition to the brilliant performances by Akindele and Johnson as well as the seasoned cast that includes Femi Jacobs (Introducing the Kujus), Sani Musa Danja  and Mike Afolarin( Far From Home) and a cameo appearance by Bimbo Ademoye, Battle on Buka street also features a crop of upcomers,  Uche Obunse, Moshood Fattah, Judith Usi, Gbemi Akinlade and  Miracle Gabriel making it a captivating experience that truly embodies the essence of Nollywood.

Highly recommended on Prime Video
