SCREENNOLLY THROWBACK - Koseegbe: A Tunde Kelani classic streams on Youtube

Koseegbe is a 1995 Yoruba Nollywood classic starring, Kola Oyewo, Toyin Adegbola, Peju Ogunmola, Jide Kosoko and Wole Amele.

Directed by the legendary Tunde Kelani, Koseegbe is a satire addressing the corruptive activities of a nation. Oyewo plays Olawale Mako,  a diligent and conscientious officer who is appointed as the new Director of Customs and empowered to combat smuggling and fraudulent activities, incidentally is stage managed by the dismissed deputy director, Arowolo (Kosoko),

Arowolo was going to fight back, and with the assistance of a close associate, Maliki, played by Wole Amele, famously known as Councillor Balogun, they conspired to frame Mako. Silifa (Ogunmola) and Suwebatu (Adegbola) were the baits.

Originally written as a stage play by Prof. Akinwunmi Ishola, who also had a cameo role,  the feature-length movie is rendered in typical Yoruba dialogue and aptly titled in English.  Also stars Tunji Ojeyemi and Yemi Sodimu as Salu Mako.
