Though she began her artistic journey on stage and in music in the United States, gaining fame for her feature in the 1997 hit song Love Me Jeje, her professional acting career took off in 2010 when she returned to Nigeria. Her breakout role in Said Balogun’s Eti Keta as ‘Aunty’ marked her as a rising star. She later joined the popular TV series TINSEL as a prominent cast member. Her brilliant portrayal of the glamorous and confident Joanne Lawson opened doors to further acclaim, including her next lead role as Adaora Badmus in the TV series Battleground.
Bello’s sacrifice of leaving behind her family of two children and a loving husband in the States seems to have paid off because the roles kept rolling in and positioning the Victory High School, Lagos, Alumni and Communications and Psychology graduate as a prominent figure in Nollywood.
Over the years, she has taken on diverse roles, avoiding stereotypes and showcasing her range in films like Two Weeks in Lagos, Crazy Grannies, When Love Happens, and It’s Her Day, to mention a few. However, her standout performances in the gritty narrative Shanty Town, the cinematic adaptation of Death and the King’s Horseman, Eleshin Oba, and Black Book, Nollywood's first film to top Netflix’s global charts, have solidified her standing as a sought-after talent in the industry.
SCREENNOLLY invites you to a Streaming Weekend with this dynamic Nollywood superstar and Fashionista.
