SUKY: Gripping Action Thriller Pushes Nollywood Boundaries With Stellar Cast

Suky is a gripping, action thriller that follows the journey of a young boy, Suky (titular character played by James Bamilare Solomon), who is thrust into a brutal world after witnessing his father's murder and framed for his guardian’s death. He finds himself in a ruthless prison controlled by the sadistic warden, Marshall (Olarotimi Fakunle). Determined to seek justice, Suky is compelled to embark on a harrowing path of vengeance, starting by freeing himself from the wrath of the deadly prison system.

Marking the directorial debut of acclaimed cinematographer Ola Cardoso known for his work on hit films such as Breath of Life, Slum King, and God Calling, Suky is a visually striking and emotionally charged thriller. Cardoso’s expert eye for dynamic storytelling delivers a raw, electrifying cinematic experience, blending the gritty realism of Shanty Town with the unrelenting intensity of Black Book. While dialogued in Yoruba, the film defies traditional genre expectations, standing out as a bold and boundary-pushing thriller.

Written by Issac O. Ayodeji, the 1hr 50m feature length boasts an exceptional cast, including Tobi Bakre, Olarotimi Fakunle (Gangs of Lagos) and Bimbo Ademoye as Nurse Simisola. It also includes standout performances from Itele D’Icon (Kesari), Taiwo Oshinaike (Jolly Rogers), Phillip Asaya (Kill Boro), and Femi Adebayo.

From the opening scene, the film grips you with its intense storytelling, masterful direction, and stellar performances, making it a must-watch on Prime Video
