Nile Entertainment Secures Exclusive UIP Distribution Deal in West Africa

Big move for West Africa’s cinema industry as Nile Entertainment becomes the exclusive theatrical distribution partner for United International Pictures (UIP) across Anglophone West Africa.

Effective 27 February 2026, Nile will now oversee major studio releases from Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures in two of the region’s most commercially active box office markets — Nigeria and Ghana.

This isn’t happening in isolation. Nile Entertainment, founded and led by Moses Babatope, has been building momentum since its 2024 inception, notably managing the global rollouts of films such as Everybody Loves Jenifa, Red Circle, and Radio Voice. These releases delivered structured international theatrical runs and reinforced confidence in the company’s distribution capabilities. That performance signalled that a Nigerian distributor could operate at scale — both locally and internationally.

Now, with the UIP partnership, Nile moves into an even more central role within West Africa’s theatrical ecosystem, bridging Hollywood studio standards with on-the-ground market expertise.

Babatope described the partnership as deeply humbling and reaffirmed Nile’s commitment to exhibitors and sustainable growth. At the same time, UIP’s Cameron Hogg highlighted West Africa’s expanding cinema infrastructure and premium formats as key drivers behind the move.
