Henshaw plays Eringa, a fiery and domineering wife who rules her home with an iron hand and isn’t shy about putting her husband Ulonna (Owoh) in his place. Whenever their arguments spiral out of control, Ulonna does what he knows best: he runs off to his sister Ure (Nwagbo) for refuge.
Protective of her brother, Ure often confronts Eringa over the way she treats him. But after seeing the situation repeat itself one too many times, she decides to take matters into her own hands. Determined to free Ulonna from Eringa’s grip, she hatches a bold plan. First, she arranges for some village women to confront the fearsome wife. Then she takes things even further by bringing in a beautiful young woman, Buchi (Daniella Okeke), hoping a little temptation might finally push Ulonna to leave his overbearing spouse.
But Ulonna’s love for Eringa is “Stronger Than the Pain” she puts him through.
Written and directed by Tchidi Chikere, the 2007 film earned both Henshaw and Owoh major recognition, winning Best Actress and Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards. Also starring Ifeanyi Okechukwu
