DEAR KAFFY – Bolanle Austen-Peters Brings Hit Stage Play To London

London's theatre scene is set for a vibrant Nigerian takeover as acclaimed stage and film director, Bolanle Austen-Peters, announces the London debut of her celebrated stage production, Dear Kaffy: Diary of a Single Woman in Lagos.

Following successful performances in Lagos and a critically acclaimed tour of Pretoria, South Africa, the much-loved play will take centre stage at the Shaw Theatre, London, from August 7 to 9, 2026.

Produced by BAP Productions, Dear Kaffy has earned praise for its witty storytelling, emotional depth, and honest portrayal of love, identity, and the societal expectations facing modern Nigerian women. Led by Uzo Osimkpa in the title role, the production boasts a stellar cast that includes Akah Nnani and acclaimed veteran actor Bimbo Manuel. The play follows the journey of Kikelomo "Kaffy" Olota, a single woman navigating relationships, career ambitions, and cultural pressures in Lagos.

The London staging marks another significant milestone for Austen-Peters, whose productions have consistently expanded the global footprint of Nigerian theatre. Her previous works, including Wakaa! The Musical (2016) and Saro The Musical (2017) attracted sold-out audiences at London's Shaw Theatre and helped establish Nigerian musical theatre on the international stage.

Audiences can expect a captivating blend of comedy, music, drama, and heartfelt storytelling that reflects the realities of contemporary African relationships while celebrating the richness of Nigerian culture.

Tickets for the three-day engagement are now available online, with organisers anticipating strong demand from London's African and multicultural theatre communities.
