On Thursday, the 28th of January, the World ! yep the world learnt of the passing of a Hollywood Icon Cicely Tyson. at the ripe ag of 96

It was a mixture of emotions and reactions, tributes filed in celebrating the Life of a legend who's 70 years acting career was devoted to the positive portrayal of the African - American Woman.

Tyson has received various coveted awards that included three Primetime Emmy Award, four Black Reel Awards, one Screen Actors Guild Award, one Tony Award, a honorary Academy Awards, and a Peabody Award. She also received two Emmy awards, a BAFTA nomination for leading role in the 1974 TV series, The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman.  for her 
stellar performance in the Sounder, she received an Academy Award as well as a Golden Globe nomination.

She was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 2020, but had earlier sealed her position as a Legend and Icon when she was named a Kennedy Center Honoree in 2015 and received the US highest civilian honor in 2016 when President Obama conferred on her the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
