Beverly Naya’s feature-length documentary on Colorism in Nigeria no doubt is an outstanding presentation and also adds another feather to filmmaking in Screen Nollywood.
Speaking to various personalities including Eku Edewor, Hilda Dokunbo, Phyno, and Bobrisky to mention a few, the British-born, Nigerian actress was able to highlight various social perceptions of Dark skin and also the shortcomings of bleaching in pursuit of a True beauty.
The documentary that recently won the African Magic’s Viewer Choice Award, and also earned an AMAA nomination, climaxed with a family reunion scene depicting that Real identity, Self Confidence and True beauty (Dark or Light) is best realized when you know who you are and where you’re from.
Directed by Daniel Etim Effiong, the one hour-long feature is streaming on Netflix
