Nigeria's foremost filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan is all - smiles as he clinches a whooping deal to produce three feature-length movies for streaming giant platform, Netflix.
This is coming on the heels of the success of some of his past films, October 1, Figurine, and more recently Citation recording a successful viewership on the platform.
The new partnership will see Kunle's company, KAP motion picture producing and premiering three diverse genres: historical drama, folklore, and a character drama, all set in Nigeria.
Already the first film, an adaptation of a short story, Swallow, written by Seffi Atta, is underway. Same movie title, set in the mid 80s Lagos, the story is about a naive secretary, Tolani who after a series of unsuccessful career moves, succumbed to work as a drug mule.
Famous songstress, Niyola will be making her screen debut as she plays the lead role of Tolani Ajao. Other cast members include Chioma Chukwuka, Deyemi Okanlawon, Mercy Aigbe, and Eniola Badmus
