After over two months of an intensified, induced narrative image, publicity campaign, Coming 2 America, a sequel to Eddie Murphy's 1988 hit movie, Coming To America finally birthed on Amazon Prime as well as premiering in some countries notably Nigeria.
The Original Amazon movie began streaming over a week ago, 5th of March, and has been met with varied mixed reactions and opinions. Rotten Tomatoes, a movie, and TV review website has rated it at 51% generated from 191 reviews, with an audience score totaling 49%.
While some have said that the story just doesn't resonate with today's representation some have applauded the film for reuniting the majority of the original cast.
Most Nigerians on the other hand, are quite excited that the movie has reflected the growing popularity of the Afrobeats genre by featuring Davido in a cameo appearance as well as including Tiwa Savage's 2020 hit Koromba as one of the sound tracks.

I will give the movie 10/10 ability to bring the whole actors together after 33 year, costume, music quality and the black cast of the movie. It reminds me of Wakanda. I have watched "Coming to America" countless times in 31 years and I have never been bored.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind "Coming 2 America" but not sure I'll watch it more than twice in a decade
I love it for the fact that 20➕ after the original movie they can still bring the actors together. But the general review was poor.
