Coming From Insanity is an excellent movie to watch. Gabriel Afolayan (Gold Statue, Citation) gave a brilliant performance playing Kossi, a Togolese who was trafficked as a young lad and became a houseboy to a wealthy family, The Martins, in Nigeria. Ambitious and witty, he grew up determined to get himself out of slavery, and the only option he saw was 'printing his own money US Dollars'. He got away alright but not too far away from the anti-graft agency and especially not from Detective Toye (Udoka Oyeka), who incidentally was in love with Kossi's best friend Oyin Martins (Damilola Adegbite).
Written and directed by Sebastian Akinyemi Akinropo, the movie also stars Sambasa Nzeribe, Sharon Ooja, Tina Mba Wale Ojo, Dakore Egbuson and Bolanle Ninolowo as Rocky, Kossi's loyal bodyguard.
Nominated for best first feature narrative at the 2020 Pan African Film Festival and also the Audience choice award for best feature film at the Pressplay Film Festival, the 100min feature - length is now streaming on Prime Video
