Its a Hearty Happy Birthday to Funke Akindele - Bello as she turns 44 today.
Funke is Undoubtedly the most successful actress in Nollywood.
She started out as a cast member of a sitcom, I Need to Know from 1998 - 2002, After that she joined the Yoruba Home Video Industry via the famous Odunfa Caucus and featured in various movies notably Bolodeoku, Aje Metta, Àpáà dì to mention a few. She also starred and produced her own flick titled Ojo Ketala. She also caught the eye of veteran filmmaker, Tunde Kelani who cast her as a co lead in Maami.
Funke however cut-crossed the tribal barriers when she starred in the 2009 Blockbuster, Jenifa. The comedy drama earned 4 AMAA nominations and Funke alias 'Sulia kan Aiyetoro kan' won the Best Actress in a Leading Role.
Right after she launched her company, Scene One to capitalise on the success of Jenifa and thus produced various successful instalments that includes Return of Jenifa and Jenifa's Diary, Omo Ghetto amongst others.
Today her sequel to Omo Ghetto, the Saga is rated as the 'Highest Grossing movie of all times in Nigeria.
