SHADOW PARTIES - All Teeth-baring with a Feeble Bite

One would have assumed that ‘Shadow Parties’ directed by Yemi Amodu is perhaps inspired by real-life events around the Ife-Modakeke wars. The probable expectation then would be a storyline that is immensely saturated, seamlessly enacted and hitting the viewer with an enduring narrative experience. But really, the flick is just fiction that gives one nothing to hold onto.

Even with the lineup of star actors that include Jide Kosoko, Sola Sobowale, Toyin Abraham, Segun Arinze, Saheed Balogun, Sola Kosoko, Yemi Blaq Jibola Daboh and Omotola Jalade, the casting, as well as other storytelling elements, are not well utilised to give a proper audio-visual narrative.

Strangely enough, this movie is not the only one guilty of Poor casting which requires some serious attention in the industry

Currently streaming on Netflix,  watch ‘Shadow Parties’ and judge for yourself.
