Nominees for the 17th edition of the AMAA Awards one of Africa’s biggest and most prestigious platforms that celebrate African cinema has been released
Somali‘s The Gravedigger’s Wife’ tops the list with 10 nominations that includes Best film in an African Language, best actor in a leading role and best director.
Nigeria’s entry includes Omo Ghetto: The Saga’, ‘Eyimofe’, Collissiin Course and the epic ‘Ayinla’
Tanzanian movie, ‘Nyara/The Kidnaping’; and South Africa’s ‘African American’ also snagged multiple nominations.
Star actresses, Rita Doninic and Funke Akindele were also nominated in the Best Actress In Leading Role category, for their efforts in ‘La Femme Anjola’ and ‘Omo Gheto: The Saga’ respectively.
Big Brother Naija star, Oluwabamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan aka Bam-Bam scoops the“Best Young/Promising Actor” for her role in the movie ‘Collision Course’,
The 2021 edition which will televised live will hold in Lagos on Sunday, 28 November
