Oga Bolaji a 2018 drama-comedy about a struggling musician, played by Gold Ikponwasa (Confusion Na wa, One Lagos Night) may not grip one's attention immediately, but it certainly draws you into the real-life hustling and bustling of Lagos, Nigeria
It's actually Kayode Kasum's (Sugar Rush, Kambili The Whole 30 Yards, This lady Called Life) 2nd directorial effort and that probably explains some very few significant audio-visual narrative hitches.
Those hitches though didn't stop the casts which include Omowunmi Dada, Iya Rainbow, Gregory Ojefua, Ronke Oshodi and more especially the little Jasmine Fakunle from doing a good.
Jasmine gave a brilliant performance playing the role of Ajua, the 7year old orange hawker. It was no surprise that she won 2018 Best of Nollywood's Child Actor Award. It's probably one of the many reasons why the 90min feature-length, laced with remixed Afrobeat (not Afrobeats) soundtracks also caught the eye of streaming giant, Netflix for a global release.
Starts streaming on 3rd November
