One can tell from his movies that Kayode Kasum is no fantasist but a realist that is always informed and influenced by his surroundings and background, using the appropriate cultural and social context codes and experiences to tell inspiring and encouraging stories to the audience.
A graduate of the Yaba College of Technology, Kasum started as a graphics editor with WAP Productions and later as a producer in advertising before launching himself into Nollywood with an action animated movie, Dognapped, in 2017.
He co-wrote and directed a feature-length film, Oga
Bolaji, that instantly became a success and turned Kasum into a most
sought-after director. And ever since, he has been churning out movies that have
earned him three best director nominations and two box successes, all in less
than five years.
