Star actor Odunade Adekola will lead a powerful cast in the forthcoming movie, Eleshin Oba, a screen adaptation of Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka's famous play, Death and The King's Horseman.
Written for the screen and directed by Biyi Bandele, the auteur of Chimamanda Adichie's Half of a Yellow Sun, the movie is an adaptation of Soyinka's 1975 play about the British colonial officers' intervention in a ritual suicide of the Elesin Oba, the King's horseman who according to tradition must the King into the afterlife.
Tipped as the first Nigerian languaged movie to stream on NaijaonNetflix will also premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival TIFF in September 2022.
Other cast members include Shaffy Bello. Deyemi Okanlawon Omowunmi Dada and Jide Kosoko with special appearances by Ajoke Silva and Taiwo Ajai - Lycett.
The 'Ara' and 'Good morning omoge' singer, Brymo, who co-scored the movie produced by Mo Abudu's Ebonylife Studios, will also be making a screen debut as the Praise Singer
