Screennolly Throwback - Ojo Ibi

Ojo Ibi, a 2001 family drama starring Buky Wright, Taiwo Ogogo Hassan, Lanre Hassan, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Bisi IbiDapo and Remi Abiola.

Directed by Yomi Ogunmola, it tells the story of an aged woman, Mama Adeniyi ( Lanre Hassan), who got too concerned about her children, Adeniyi(Ogogo) Adetutu (Oshodi Oke) and Ranti (Wright), who have not to be able to bore children of their own even though they are all married and engaged. She got so worried and became cruel to her daughter-in-law, Adeniyi’s wife, Adunni (Ibidapo - Obe) and regularly scolded her own daughters, Adetutu and Ranti. But Ranti, a hot-tempered person and about to be married, wasn’t taking any of her mum’s tantrums. She confronted her, accused her of witchcraft, and was responsible for their childlessness. Well, it turned out to be false, but the question is, who is responsible for this predicament.

Brilliantly written with a great cast that includes Jide Kosoko, Yomi Fash Lanso and Toyin Afolayan, aka Lola Idije, and others. This movie will surely spark some nostalgia feeling while returning to memory lane, especially with Wright’s stellar performance as Ranti 'Alagidi.'
