A STREAMING WEEKEND WITH GABRIEL AFOLAYAN

Gabriel Afolayan's acting talents are impossible to overlook. His captivating performances have earned him a distinguished reputation. It's no surprise he possesses such qualities, considering his family's deep-rooted history in Theatre Arts.

His journey into acting began early, and he quickly proved himself not through any family influence but hard work, commitment and dedication. He started his career in television with memorable roles in series like "Super Story's Nnenna" before transitioning to the Yoruba film industry, where he delivered outstanding performances in various films, including "Meta," "Ayomi," and "Somewhere in the Dark."

His notable screen appearances include the lead role in "Gold Statue", which earned him the 2019 AMVCA and BON awards for Best Actor. He also got a nomination for AMVCA's 'Best Actor in Drama' for his brilliant interpretation of 'Koffi' in "Coming from Insanity. He has also played remarkable support roles in movies like GONE, Citation, and A Lot Like Love, to mention a few. Additionally, he showcased his talents behind the camera when he directed his movie, "U-Turn."

Beyond his acting talent, Afolayan may also have inherited a musical streak from his father. And that is singing and songwriting. Under the moniker, G - Fresh, he has produced an impressive discography that includes romantic hit songs, Kokoro Ife, Awelewa and Amoke. Like his acting, his music reflects a Arich cultural influence and a modern twist that sets him apart as a true artist.

Gabriel is truly a chip off the old block, following in the footsteps of his renowned father, Adeyemi Afolayan (Ade Love), and elder brother, Kunle, both game-changers in the Nigerian film industry. With two other siblings, Moji and Aremu, who are also seasoned actors, it's clear that Gabriel is destined for the limelight.
