SUPA CELL - Rapman moves from Rap Storytelling to Sci-Fi in New Netflix Series

Blue Story writer and director Rapman brings a fresh twist to the traditional superhero narrative with his new series, SUPA CELL. The series centres on the lives of five young people from South London who inherit unexpected superpowers from their parents with sickle cell disease.

Starring Tosin Cole, Nadine Mills, Eric Kofi Abrefa, Calvin Demba, Josh Tedeku, Adebayo Adedayo, and Raxya Ojo, the story revolves around Michael (Cole), a deliveryman on the verge of proposing to his longtime girlfriend, Dionne (Adedayo). At the same time, Andre (Abrefa) is a single father struggling to secure stable employment due to his criminal record. Sabrina (Mills) is a hardworking nurse aiming for a promotion by taking extra shifts. Tazar is a gang leader confused and dealing with abandonment issues from his mother while being raised by his grandmother. And finally, Rodney (Demba), a mixed-race young man, is involved in small-time drug peddling.

Each discovers their unique superpowers at pivotal moments, but Michael gains a crucial advantage by glimpsing a grim future. Determined to protect his loved ones and thwart a secret organisation exploiting their abilities, he seeks to unite the group.

Known for his uniquely vivid storytelling through rap, Rapman, this time, blends sci-fi elements with the real-life struggles of South London to create this compelling six-part series, streaming on Netflix.
