Child actor Darasimi Nadi has won the hearts of Nollywood audiences with her exceptional talent and versatility. At just 13 years old, she has shown that age is no barrier to brilliance in the entertainment industry. A rising star with a growing reputation, Darasimi continues to redefine the role of child actors, skillfully portraying complex emotions across diverse genres.
Born and raised in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria, Darasimi's journey into acting began unexpectedly through her producer-actress mother, Mimi Hagga. What started as a chance to appear as an extra in one of her mother’s productions quickly revealed a natural talent. Encouraged by her mother’s support, Darasimi balanced school with acting, first gaining attention with comedic skits before making her feature debut in The Pretty Ones Are the Loneliest.
This was followed by a string of roles in movies like Catch 22, Insecure, Blank Space, and Something Special. Her breakthrough came in 2022 with the musical comedy Obara 'M, where her portrayal of the witty and intelligent Ihunnaya alongside Nancy Isime and Nkem Owoh brought her widespread acclaim. She continued to impress with her role in the 2023 thriller Green Fever, minor appearances in political drama On The Edge and then Ègún, and a stellar performance in the 2024 action-packed Tokunbo, directed by Ramsey Nouah.
Darasimi’s journey from budding performer to one of Nollywood’s most promising young stars is nothing short of inspiring.
