Former Nollywood actress Belinda Effah has taken a bold step away from the spotlight, trading red carpets for military fatigues as she begins a new career as a United States Navy sailor.
Best known for her roles in Sanitation Day and Hire A Woman, the award winning actress now known as Grace Charis Bassey Effah, has officially become a full U.S. citizen and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, marking a significant shift from her days in front of the camera.
In a statement reflecting on her journey, she shared: “Nigeria raised me, America challenged me, and I stand today stronger and more determined than ever.”
Effah’s career change also carries a personal resonance—her late father was a naval commander in the Nigerian Navy. With this move, she not only honors his legacy but also redefines her own path far from the sets and scripts of Nollywood.
