ALHAMDULILAH ! OGA BELLO IS 70

Happy Birthday to Adebayo Salami as he turns 70 on Tuesday the 9th of May 

Popularly known as Oga Bello, the veteran actor, producer and director has been active since 1964 when he started with the Young Concert Party, which transformed into Ojo Ladipo Theatre and later Awada Kerikeri, where he took up the leadership role after the demise of Ọjọ́ Ladipo aka Baba Mero in 1978. 

 

A thoroughbred of the industry, Oga Bello has withered the storm from traveling theatres, TV drama series, home videos and Nollywood as a prolific actor, writer and producer. His first movie, Ogun Ajaye, was produced in 1985 from the stable of Awada Kerikeri.

He was a pioneer member of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners and served as president of the association.

An indigene of Ilorin, Kwara, the scion also known as Aremu, has three of his sons, Femi, Tope and Sodiq (one of the top location managers in the business) plying the same trade excellently.

On his 69th birthday, the Nollywood icon asked for "the unending blessings of  Allah to abide with him as he enters this new age elegantly. Screennolly shares the same prayer as he graciously and gloriously attains the 7th floor
