Jide Kosoko is a Nollywood veteran and Icon who has been active since the mid-60s, when he starred as a child actor in a TV drama titled Makanjoula.
Growing up in the remote area of Ebute Metta, Lagos, Jide, born into royalty was inspired by the works and success of Hubert Ogunde and thereby decided to forge a career by joining a traveling troupe, Ifelodun Theatre, and from there, he became busy scooping up all forms available roles in films, TV and stage theatres which included his guest performances with the famous Awada Kerikeri group led by Adebayo Salami.
His exposure to various roles on different platforms prepped him adequately for future roles, especially in the Home Video Industry, which later transformed into Nollywood. He contributed to the success of the Yoruba movie genre by producing and starring in one of the early blockbusters, Asiri Nla in 1992. He also featured in another blockbuster, Asewo to re Mecca.
Today, Prince Jide Kosoko, who stands out as a successful crossover actor and by all standards a Nollywood Icon, has three lovely daughters, Sola, Bidemi, and Temidayo, who are also making their marks in the industry
SOLA
An actress in her own right, Sola shot into the limelight in a series of movies that include Olorire, a movie produced and directed by her father. A graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Sola is now married with two lovely kids and has starred in over 100 movies. Other movie credits include Laroda Ojo, Palace and Shadow Parties
BIDEMI
Bidemi is another thriving actress from the Theatre House of the Kosokos. Well-grounded in the Yoruba genre of the industry, the dimpled-faced actress, also like her father, has made some crossover successes, including a cast member in the TV Drama series, Prof. Johnbull and also starred in Toyin Abraham's blockbuster, Alakada Reloaded.
Her movie credits include Omije Arugbo, Owo Iworo, Eriola, and Ese ni, produced by Sister, Sola and also featured her dad.
TEMILADE
Temilade, the youngest daughter of Jide Kosoko, is a fast-rising actress, dancer, and model. She starred in a comedy, Pregnancy, which featured her father's Sister, Temi. Other movie credits include Twist of Fate and Wonder Woman
