Dazzling Mirage, a 2014 movie based on the challenges of living and overcoming the travails of sickle cell, is simply put; Superb.
It stars Lala Akindoju who plays the Funmiwo, a sickle patient who is determined not to be weighed down by the disease. But rather forged ahead against all the odds.
An adaptation of a novel of the same title by Olayinka Abimbola Egbokhare, it was brilliantly adapted for the screen by Ade Solanke and directed by veteran filmmaker Tunde Kelani (Ayinla).
Also starring Seun Akindele, Kunle Afolayan, Taiwo Ajai – Lycett and Bimbo Manuel amongst others, this inspirational drama movie aiming to create public awareness of genotype-related issues like Sickle Cell Anaemia, is now streaming on Netflix
