Ije The Journey, starring Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, is a story about sisterly love that
allowed the star actresses to reprise their 2003 Blood Sisters roles but swapping character personalities.
Here Genevieve dumped her vicious and spiteful character to play the calmer, loving and caring sister, Chioma, while Omotola became the carefree and insensitive Anya. Opting for a glamorous life, Anya relocated to the US, where she eventually got into big trouble. She is charged with multiple murders that, included her husband. Chioma, a banker, had to drop everything and travel to help save her sister from being convicted in any way she could.
Co-written and directed by Chinese Anyaene, Ije The Journey, produced in 2010, was critically acclaimed, won prestigious awards and made a box office success. The well-produced feature-length is one of the early second-generation films that helped revolutionise the Nollywood Industry.
