PROFILE - A 'Screenlife' movie on ISIS recruitment of young women streams on Netflix

 


Profile, a movie about a journalist investigating the online recruitment of.young women into ISIS could be forging a new genre of storytelling. The entire plot is based on a laptop screen watching the activities of young journalist Amy, played by Valene Kane who goes undercover as a newly converted Muslim girl, Melody, to investigate the online recruitment of the young girls into ISIS. Using a new social media identity, Amy was able to get through to Bilel, played by (Shazad Latif) , a terrorist and ISIS recruiter based in Syria. They got acquainted and may have fallen in love online.

In order to get the full story with better perspectives, daring Amy, who got dumped online by boyfriend, Matthew (Morgan Watkins) even went as far as meeting Bilel in Istanbul Turkey, when the whole cat was let out of the bag. She returns to London but not without a ISIS Fatwa hanging over her

With well captured activities on Skype, Facebook and Microsoft, You can see how she interacts with Bilel, her editor, Vicky (Chrstine Adams), IT Guy Lou (Amir Rahimzadeh) and bestfriend Kathy (Emma Carter) while also googling useful information for her research, to create a compelling and intensive narrative directed by Timur Bekmambetov.
