A WEEKEND TO FORGET - A captivating thriller awaits you on Prime Video

Many years back in Bradbury Street, London, there was an old lady called Mummy Agba. She was an avid viewer of Yoruba Nollywood movies, and anytime she loved a movie, would express her approval with the phrase “Ogogo ko play yen”, meaning Ogogo (Taiwo Hassan or whoever wrote or produced the movie did a good job). This phrase stuck with me, and whenever I encounter an impressive screenplay, my mind echoes, "Lagbaja ko play yen."

So when I watched A Weekend to Forget, a captivating thrilling twister starring Daniel Etim Effiong, Ini Dima Okojie, Stan Nze, Uche Montana, Neo Akpofure, Erica Nlewedim and Elozonam Ogbolu, it’s without a doubt that the cast delivered outstanding performances, elevating the exceptional screenplay crafted by Joy Isi Bewaji and directed by Damola Ademola.

Like Mummy Agba of Bradbury Street, I can’t help but say, with a little twist, that “Joy Bewaji ko play yen mehn!” You’d probably say the same after watching it on Prime Video.
