It was the night in January 1985 after the American Music Awards that 47 music superstars were invited to record a song that would provide relief funds for the famine in Ethiopia.
Filmmakers Bao Nguyen and Julia Nottingham, armed with memorable footage and interviews from key figures like Music veteran Lionel Richie, the song's co-writer and project coordinator, Bruce Springsteen, Cyndi Lauper, Shiela E, Dionne Warwick, and more, have crafted a moving, informative, and entertaining documentary. This film provides a detailed account of how one of the world's iconic songs came to life at the famous A&M studios in Los Angeles, California, under the directorship of music legend Quincy Jones.
