Starring Uzor Arukwe, Oluchi Amajuoyi, Olumide Oworu and Zainab Balogun, On the Edge tells the story of Korede Williams (Arukwe), a ruthless politician whose marriage to Lola (Zainab Balogun) is heading at full speed for the rocks. Despite this, he is infatuated with Mira (Amajuoyi), a young lady in love with a recent graduate, Tomison (Oworu).
Korede is running for governorship and is compromising his marriage for political gain. Meanwhile, Mira, engaged to Tomison, wants to end the relationship, but this isn’t going well with Korede, who, despite his time-consuming pursuits, still finds time to attend to his only daughter, played by a child actor, Darasimi Nadi (Obara’M)
The movie also introduces a poorly executed subplot involving one of Tomison’s friends, Jolomi (Charles Born), dealing with joblessness, his sister's marriage to an abusive man, and unwanted advances from his employer's wife.
The cast, a mix of seasoned actors like Fathia Balogun, Femi Branch, Funso Adeolu, Patrick Doyle, and even erstwhile actress Jennifer Eliogu alongside Chimezie Imoh, does not make a convincing impact. Some roles, like Jide Oyegbile's as Razor, seem unnecessary.
Although the cast, including Amajuoyi's brilliant performance as Mira, did well, the film fails to deliver justice to what could have been a captivating story of love, ambition, and betrayal.
