Tyler Perry’s 1st collaboration with Netflix, A Fall from Grace `` may have fallen from Grades, but his third, following the slow burner, A Jazzman’s Blues, Mea Culpa, starring Kelly Rowland, is undoubtedly looking good.
It's a mind-blowing suspense drama with a touch of eroticism that follows the story of a Defense lawyer, Mea Harper (Rowland), who falls in love with her murder-accused client, Zyair Malloy, played by Trevante Rhodes. This dangerous attraction happens just when she's dealing with matrimonial issues with her unemployed and rehabilitating husband and his family.
To make matters worse, her brother-in-law is the prosecuting District Attorney, and Mea has been asked (not advised) by her domineering in-laws to drop the case. Being told what to do is something she no longer accepts from her in-laws, especially when she is the breadwinner. However, falling for her client puts her in a vulnerable and awkward position. Can she see it through?
Written and directed by Perry, "Mea Culpa" also stars Sam and Nick Sagar and Kerry O’Malley and is highly recommended to watch on Netflix.
