Netflix Reignites Its Nollywood Slate with Two Major Releases This June

If the Coming Up bouquet is anything to go by, then Nollywood fans in the diaspora are in for a treat as Netflix ends its six-month drought with two exciting Nigerian titles, A Lagos Love Story and Baby Farm, both set to stream globally from June 20.

After a noticeable pause in Nigerian content, the streaming giant is making a strong return to Nollywood storytelling. First up is A Lagos Love Story, a romantic drama starring Jemima Osunde and Mike Afolarin. Previously released on Prime Video, the film now enters Netflix’s global catalogue, offering broader access to audiences worldwide.

Also joining the lineup is Baby Farm, an emotionally charged series from Ebonylife Studios. Originally released in March, it stars Onyinye Odokoro alongside Nollywood veterans Rita Dominic and Benjamin Joseph. Since its debut, Baby Farm has consistently charted on Netflix Africa, a strong indicator of its regional success ahead of its global rollout.

If confirmed, these releases could mark a renewed commitment from Netflix to stream Nollywood content to global audiences—an exciting prospect for the Nigerian diaspora and fans of authentic African storytelling worldwide.
