Nollywood icon Stella Damasus steps behind the camera for the first time with her directorial debut, NDIA, a 21-minute short feature that marks a new milestone in her celebrated career. The film also serves as a creative launchpad for her daughters, Angelica Tooni and Isabel.
With NDIA, Angelica Tooni makes her on-screen debut, bringing fresh energy to the film, while Isabel takes on a crucial behind-the-scenes role as co-editor, showcasing her growing skills in post-production and visual storytelling.
Stella also joins a growing lineage of Nollywood parents who have used their influence and experience to guide their children into the industry. Legendary actor Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello) paved the way with sons Femi, Tope, and Sodiq; Prince Jide Kosoko introduced his daughters Sola and Bidemi into Nollywood; and more recently, Iyabo Ojo and her daughter Priscilla appeared together in the coming-of-age drama All of Us, reflecting the trend of cross-generational creative legacies.
