Adapted from a book and developed by William Oldroyd, His & Hers wastes no time drawing you in. The story centres on Anna Andrews (Thompson), a once high-profile news anchor who retreats from public life after the devastating loss of her baby. Nearly a year later, she resurfaces when a murder rocks her hometown of Dahlonega, Georgia — and suddenly, she’s back in the spotlight.
Unable to get her old news anchor job back, Anna settles for a reporter role just to stay close to the story. But things quickly take an awkward turn when she realises the detective leading the murder investigation is her estranged husband, Jack Harper (Bernthal). As their work starts to overlap, unresolved tension, buried emotions, and uncomfortable truths begin to resurface — or so it seems.
What follows is an intense game of cat and mousewhere past and present blur, motivations aren’t what they appear to be, and every new clue flips your assumptions on their head.
One thing’s for sure — don’t go into His & Hers thinking you’ve figured it out. This Netflix thriller, which charted at No. 1 on the UK Top 10 in its first week of release, will keep you second-guessing right until the very end.
