Subira is an inspirational movie based on real life events starring Brenda Wairimu and Tirath Padam.
Using a contextual 'Arranged Marriage' plot, writer and director, Raneev Sippy Chadha was able to tell the story of Subira (Wairimu), a young Muslim girl from Lamu, Kenya, who fought and resisted customs so that she could chase her dreams of becoming a swimmer and more importantly, herself.
Also starring, Nice Githinji and Ali Mwangola as Adam Hussein, the movie won 'best feature film' at the 2018 Kalasha film award.
