L.I.F.E. - A new movie on Prime Video falls short of many expections

L.I.F.E. starring Omowunmi Dada (Madam KOI KOI) and Efe Irele (House Of Secrets), tells the story of two females on opposite sides of life dreaming of becoming what they are not. While Dada plays Ema, An advertising executive who also nurses a passion and ambition to be a dancer, Irele is Yinka, the struggling dancer who just wants to be successful and financially comfortable.

Written and directed by Uyoyou Adia (Hey You), Life didn’t seem to do justice in its attempt to effectively compare the lives of the two individuals using a body-switch narrative technique. The switch, characterised and orchestrated by an old woman angel played by Kate Ade[egba was delayed 40 minutes, and all we had prior was just story and character developments and perhaps a good showcase of dance drama rehearsal scenes, which may have worked well for the movie. Narrating this against the backdrop of dance drama shot at the famous Freedom Park is a bit of a saving grace.

Also starring Tope Olowoniyan, Rotimi Fakunle, Eso Dike, Paul JayPaul with a special appearance by Mr Marconi as Mr Fred, L.I.F.E produced by Judith Audu is a movie trying to be what it cannot deliver.
