The Unusual love story in this movie, starring Bimbo Ademoye and Etim Effiong, may have its moments, but the nearly two-hour production from Uduak Isong’s Closer Pictures ultimately disappoints due to a storyline that feels disjointed and unconvincing, despite the good performances by the cast.
Fascinatingly, it opens with an intense plot centred around a mother who makes life unbearable for her son's fiancƩe, Lola (Ademoye). Despite Lola's respectful demeanour, she still stands her ground against her future mother-in-law's tantrums, but when the conflict costs her a promotion, she decides to dump both mother and son.
Meanwhile, Ifeanyi (Etim Effiong) grows increasingly suspicious of his wife. His doubts are confirmed when, during a phone call to his wife's best friend, he discovers she’s been lying about her whereabouts when not at home. He throws her out and heads to a bar to drown his sorrows, where he meets Lola, who seems to be celebrating her newfound freedom. They clicked Ideologically and physically, and a new romance sparked after an intensive one-night stand.
Though Etim and Ademoye have worked together successfully in previous projects like "Selina," their chemistry in this film seems off, resulting in a flat narrative written by Gift Collins and directed by Oyinye Udezeh.
