Submission is a 2002 family-based movie Starring Patience Ozorkwo, Stella Damasus, Zack Orji, and Fabian Adibe. It was directed by Christian Onu and tells the story of Lebiche (Ozorkwor), a mother who exploits her daughter Azuka's( Damasus) relationship and marriage for her own selfish ends.
Despite repeated warnings from her husband (Adibe) and elder daughter, with whom she eventually falls out, Lebiche continues her manipulative ways. Under the guise of offering the traditional Omugwo, a Nigerian tradition where a mother helps to care for a newborn baby, Lebiche poisons Azuka’s mind against her husband, leading to a temporary separation.
The movie also features Jennifer Eliogu and Clem Ohameze, adding depth to this tale of betrayal and the consequences of selfish actions. Through its engaging narrative and powerful performances, Submission underscores the importance of trust and the destructive potential of deceit within families.
