A 2006 drama was written by and starring Alh. Taiwo “Ogogo” Hassan, alongside Funke Akindele. Ogogo plays Wale Aloba, a frustrated bachelor who prefers a quiet, disciplined life. But things take an unexpected turn when his friends drag him out for a night he’d rather avoid.
That’s where he meets Bunmi (Akindele), a wild and carefree young woman who, in her drunken state, immediately takes a liking to him. The night quickly spirals when Bunmi gets so drunk that she can’t even remember where she lives. Left with little choice, Wale reluctantly takes her back to his own house so she can sleep it off.
For a deeply religious and responsible man like Wale, who also has a stable job and structured life, Bunmi’s behaviour is far from impressive. Yet somehow, his presence becomes the wake-up call she needs. Determined to change her ways, Bunmi begins a journey of self-improvement.
But winning Wale over is not easy. He can’t seem to shake off the negative first impression he had of her. Still, through patience and persistence, Bunmi gradually melts his resistance and eventually wins his heart. And just when things begin to look promising, a major obstacle emerges, one that threatens to derail their budding relationship.
Directed by Abbey Lanre, the film also features Ireti Osayemi, Taiwo “Wunmi” Akinwande, and Tunbosun Odunsi, with supporting appearances from Yinka Quadri, Toyin Adegbola, Rotimi Makinde, and Bisi Ibidapo-Obe.
